I have the radio up and running now, and have the cabinet ready for the last stages of restoration.
I had to re glue a lot of the cabinet and add a piece on the front of the top. it was easier than replacing the whole top veneer.
I have stripped it and gave it a coat of dark Walnut stain.
The next step is applying Mohawk Van Dyke brown toned lacquer to the pillars and the legs.
then Extra dark walnut to the top edge , apply the decals, install the grill cloth and chassis
I will post photos of the completed radio.
I think it will come out pretty good.
